THINGS ABOUT ME

To my kids:
One day I asked myself "what was my mother's favourite season?" and I didn't know.
So for those years to come when you wonder...
What was my Mom's favourite season?

My favourite season is without a doubt... summer time.
I love to be warm and in fact I still sleep with a duvet in the summer and in the winter 2 duvets some nights. Yup... I love to be WARM.

I love...

summer drinks,

sunshine
gardening
cutting the grass
making things beautiful outside
fresh vegetables

fresh strawberry jam

flowers boxes

COLOUR in nature and lots of it
outdoor rooms

no coats,
no shoes
bathing suits
(and of course bathing suit cover ups lol)
a golden tan
bbq food
ice cream

cold beer
going for walks
swimming
talks on the porch outside
beach
golfing

the breeze on my face

the sounds of nature
windows open rather than AC.
waking up to birds chirping
covered porches
and Watermelon... lots of it.

I love summer the best.

ahhh me too....I agree with all of the above....I wonder what is my Mom's favortite season?? I think I will ask her....Thanks!!!

Kate
Today on March 20, 2009, I have to write about my great friend Kate Alexander (Kate Morrow). Today I received in the mail a wonderful book - Your ultimate calling by Dr. Wayne Dyer and a wonderful note from Kate as a surprize. Kate worked for me and with me for close to 10 years at Nothern. I ran into Kate a couple of Friday's ago and we had a great long coffee and caught up on the last few months. And did we catch up. And as a result, Kate sent me this book. I love this person. Kate is about 15 years or so younger than me and when I met her she was in her 20s. But our friendship has no age to it. This is a person who is wonderful and through good times and bad, we have and will always be connected. I am very lucky to have Kate in my life.

Sandra
Sandra is a great friend and another person who I met at Northern. Sandra is a good, honest and hard working person who is a true friend. She is there to listen and then will support and when you need it, give you honest advise. It may come in the form of a question... like just recently she response to my life was...."so when are you moving" which tells you what her advise is and get's you thinking. Socially we have great fun golfing in the summer and going out to dinner with her and her partner Mike. We have been there for each other through thick and thin. I cherish Sandra for her honestly. Regardless of the time between phone calls... we can always catch up and be right back to where we were. Sandra is a wonderful friend and someone who understands exactly when you need her. For example - here is a person that after a social weekend in the Muskota, she and her partner Mike drive to Exeter (from the Muskotas) to come to my mom's visitation, stay for 30 min and then back to Oakville. Wow - now that is friendship and support. I am very lucky to have Sandra as a friend.

Bev, Liz, Sandi,
These ladies are the angel group. We have a connection thru our values and our beliefs. Unfortunately we don't get together as much as we all would like but we are always there for each other when push comes to shove. Bev is one of my best friends and she has supported me through the hardest times of my life. Bev is also the one who has taught me to give and be generous without expecting something in return. This was something that certainly wasn't taught to me by my parents so I thank her for correcting my flaw. Liz and Sandie are both people who were co workers. We have had good times and not so good times. But regardless of any of this, we know that we are there for each other. Liz has the best decorating flare that I have ever seen. Her house is just like a magazine and she entertains with exactly the same flare. What a wonderful talent. Sandie lives farther a way and we don't connect as much. But Sandie too will drive for hours if it is to save or support a friend. Without a doubt she is also a wonderful person. To my angel friends, I love you and cherish our friendship.

Jenny
Jenny is a new friend - someone who I met thru Bev. Although this friendship is new I feel that we will be connected for years to come. What I like about Jenny is that she is such a good person. Her heart is one of the truest that you will ever find. She would give you the shirt off her back and but more than that, she would lay it on top of you and cover you up. Jenny, Bev and I spent a long weekend in Colorada and I had a wonderful time. I am so looking forward to having more time with these 2 amazing ladies. And to repeat Jenny's signature statement... I like you alot alot!!!

Cindy Jackson... my friend from college.. regardless of time between chats.... we pick up right where we have left off. We have shared many laughs and many tears. Forever friends.
